Advertisements won Superbowl 2008

American Superbowl is almost every year the most watched event on television. Superbowl 2008, played on 3. February at University of Phoenix stadium in Glendale, Arizona was this year watched by 97.5 million of people. With the american tradition, sport mentality and these great ratings it is probably the goldest mine for TV and also for commercial makers. Superbowl is usually broadcasted by channel FOX, which sells its broadcasting time for an average price $2.7 million for a 30-second spot & conditions quite incomparable to Slovak's. Advertising polls showed that good laugh is above all for U.S. audiences. As a result that the best weapon of commercials is sense of humor are the five most successful commercials of Superbowl 2008 chosen by USA Today's Ad Meter. The highest mark scored spot for Budweiser beer showing a Dalmatian training an underdog Clydesdale horse & the beer' s mascot. Other four places went to ads from Fedex, Bridgestone, Doritos and Bud Light. Another reviews rated commercials from E-trade or Tide, which featured a talking stain. Among the bloggers, the first place went to Pepsi commercial with singer Justin Timberlake. Professor Tim Calkins from Northwestern University said, that "overall it was a great year for Superbowl advertising." However, there were also companies which spent millions of dollars for their forgettable or poorly received advertisements, like for example an animated spot showing two panda bears worried about going out of business. As always, Superbowl has its winners and losers, as well as in the level of commercials. And by the way, New York Giants won over New England Patriots.
